cemetery St. John’s Lutheran

 
In 1871, Julius ROSSOW donated 1/2 acre of land for a church and cemetery, to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Canada. (from: Zion Augsberg 110th Anniversary, 1874-1984). The church is built in European style, red brick in the shape of a cross and is kept in excellent condition. The cemetery is in two sections, the oldest and first-used part is at the road to the left of the church, and has a pipe fence surrounding it. The newer section is at the back of the property to the right of the church, facing the road, and slightly sloping towards it. On a window of the church is the date “1862”. A plate on the front of the church notes “Ev, Luth. St. Johannis Kirche, 1904”. The grounds are well cared-for.
The cemetery caretakers in 1990 are Mrs. Diane Sell and Mrs. Barbara Ferguson.
