ZION EVANGELICAL UNITED CEMETERY
ROSENTHAL BOUNDARY ROAD
CONC. 4, LOT 34,
BRUDENELL TWP. RENFREW CO.

Recorded, checked, mapped and researched by Geraldine Kuehl, October, 1990
Typed and mapped by Dolly Allen, Nov. 1990

This cemetery is on a side hill which slopes to the west and all the stones face the east, with the backs facing the road. It is neat and well-kept.

It dates back to the 1890’s, although there are no stones that old, the oldest being 1397 (#6).

The church is across the road from the cemetery, therefore it is in Raglan Township while the cemetery is in Brudenell Township. The church is very small, with an addition at the rear. It still has a service every week.

This church was first known as the Rockingham Mission, then the Circuit Mission. In 1954 the name Rockingham Circuit was changed to Rosenthal Circuit with the pastor serving Palmer Rapids from Rosenthal.

The two churches; Rosenthal and Palmer Rapids, are served by the same pastor as is Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren in Schutt.

The parsonage is in Palmer Rapids, built in 1960. Previously the parsonage was in Rosenthal beside the cemetery and across from the church.

This cemetery record contains a map with the location of the headstones shown. It also contains headstone inscriptions.
